Red Light, Green Light – Can be done indoors or out. Have a grown up stand a few feet away from children. When green light is called, your back should be facing the children and children move towards you (have children move in various ways when playing – ex. Walking, tip-toeing, hopping, crawling, galloping, skipping, running). Call red light and turn around. Children should freeze in place on red light. Turn around and call green light again. Children begin to move again. Continue until child has made it all the way to you. If you have multiple children playing, have them take turns calling the red light, green light.
What Time is it Mr. Fox: One person will play the fox and stand a few feet away from the children. Children call out, “What time is it Mr. Fox?” Mr. Fox responds with a time (ex. 1:00, 2:00, 3:00, 4:00, ect.) Children must take the number of steps that Mr. Fox calls out for the time (1, 2, 3, 4, ect). After the children have taken the correct amount of steps they must freeze and call out, “What time is it Mr. Fox?” Mr. Fox again calls out a time. This continues until Mr. Fox wants call out “Lunch Time.” When Lunch time is called, the children must run back to their starting point. Mr. Fox tries to catch a child who will take over as Mr. Fox.
